I started working with Drupal a bit more than 4 years ago. I just switched careers (I used to be a journalist) and honestly, I found it overwhelming. In this session, I will speak about my experience as a developer, and how to avoid the obstacles I faced.
Back in 2020, I was hired by a company who said to me: "We've been looking for a Drupal dev for more than a year, we can't find one, you're going to be that guy." It was my first job in tech, and I took up the challenge but even with a great mentor, getting into Drupal was hard. And it is really a shame, because Drupal is such a great tool and fun to work with when you know your way around it.
So if you are starting your career and considering Drupal, or if you come from another ecosystem and want to try it, I'll try to explain to you first why it is a good idea, and second how you can do that in the smoothest possible way. You'll leave with a list of hints and tools to help you navigate the Drupal labyrinth as if you were born in it. Or almost.
